HyeTails is a family run, grassroots UK charity born out of a chance encounter with a stray dog named Gilbert. In trying to find help for Gilbert, we discovered that while local rescuers carry out heroic work on the ground, sending international financial aid there is an exceptional logistical challenge because standard platforms like PayPal or GoFundMe do not operate natively in the region. Standard bank transfers hit you with heavy fees that drain away your vital donations.
Our desire to help local organisations led us to establishing HyeTails. We collect donations here in the UK and make pooled transfers to our partners on the ground. This means more money towards building shelters, running sterilisation clinics, and saving street animals, and less money to the banks.
Each one is waiting for a second chance and a place to call home.
The gentle stray who inspired HyeTails. Found covered in ticks at the Black Fortress, his affectionate nature made it impossible to leave him behind. Relocating him to the UK revealed the immense need for structured international support. Gilbert now lives with the LAR team as our honorary 'Head of Animal Welfare'.
Found malnourished with unresponsive hind legs near a rubbish bin in Gyumri, Afina was rushed to a Yerevan clinic for X-rays and treatment. After a dedicated week of daily physiotherapy and proper nutrition, she regained her mobility and now thrives at the shelter.
Found by a member of staff at the British Embassy in Yerevan, Mavis needed a secure rescue route. The embassy contacted HyeTails via LinkedIn, prompting an immediate rescue with the LAR shelter. Mavis was treated for a severe skin infection and now thrives alongside her rescue companions.
These two young puppies were separated from their mother prematurely and abandoned by a rubbish bin. Two local boys flagged the emergency to the LAR team, and rescuer Varujan arrived within minutes by car to transport them to the shelter, where they received immediate nutrition and vital maternal care.

Donations fund critical projects on the ground, including emergency rescue, rehoming, sterilisation clinics, healthcare and education. Because we pool resources in the UK to avoid heavy bank fees, every donation directly maximises what reaches frontline rescuers.
We're looking for individuals with expertise in animal rescue. If you're a veterinary surgeon or have experience running sterilisation programmes, establishing shelters or managing charities, your guidance is incredibly valuable.
